Gamebased learning can be a good approach to engaging and competency building teaching, if done right. With this course we offer a practical introduction on how to incorporate gaming elements in your existing teaching material and curriculum, but also how to design your teaching based on skills and competencies acquired through gaming.
The goal of, and approach to, constructing a gaming or esports program at an educational institution may vary. But the aim of this course is to provide teachers at all levels of education with the basic knowledge and skill set required to introduce gaming and esports into their classrooms.
The course will include hands on examples of existing learning designs as well as production of your own designs, tailored to fit your subject, school system and experience.
The final day of the course will be spent at the EASIE Conference, where management, teachers and stakeholders from different institutions and businesses across Europe will have the opportunity to learn more about implementation of esports programs in school systems in general, the academic benefits and much more.
For teachers attending the course, we encourage management from their schools to join the conference as well.
